The Green House Effect

Contributed by lillyjane on Friday, 20th October 2006 @ 05:31:31 AM in AEST
Topic: NaturePoetry

As the morning dew and soft damp mist,
caress's the grass thats still sun kissed,
a little bird still hums a tune,
as he did in the month of june,

a withered rose still mourns the sun,
a bee defies time marching on,
although October it still feels warm,
enticing rain and thunder storms,

the seasons are changing, with each year,
the global warming effect, is finally here,
we must help to stop, the worlds ruination,
think of the future generations,

The hole in the ozone, grows larger each day,
we can all help in our own small way,
its so essential that we try,
we dont want our beautiful world to die,

ice caps are melting, certain species are dying,
God in his heaven, must be crying,
our beautiful world is going to pay,
if man kind gets his way..

I don't drive . I walk as much as I can. It will take a sure sharp shock for mankind to realise what damage is being caused. Hopefully green issues are coming to the fore, at last we might be on the right track. Loved the poem. Sue x

I share your sentiments Lillyjane, but I think there are too many vested interests for change to happen, until something far worse than a tsunami or Katrina in the energy companies own back yard.

Your poem is well put, looks like you two will be doing a lot of walking soon :) :) :)

You're so right Lillyjane, beautifully written too. I saw a wasp not long ago, in the month of October!! How mad is that! Mind you, they go on about what we should do but us individuals aren't causing a fraction of the damage these big money making business are. We should all do what we can though. Loved it Lilly, keep up the good work!

So true are your words LillyJane. Sadly those big money makers care little about Mother Earth~It saddens my heart for what hope lays for the future generations?
A very well written poem. Thanks so much for sharing it with us~
take care.
hugs n prayers,
Sue M
