Looking back,
You would’ve heard her crying on the phone to a friend,
But now you regret that you never listened.
He came home; she took a walk,
You never heard the yelling.
But you didn’t have to look far
To see the girl’s eternal scars.
You thought she talked too much about everything,
But you missed the hints in between.
All her last note said was,
“You didn’t listen to me.”
She made a point to say goodbye that morning,
You waved it off, ignored the final warning.
If you had only listened,
You would have known,
She wasn’t planning to ever come home.

This is something that more people than we'd like to admit faces. Yet most people who deal with this is on a much smaller scale, they are so consumed with themselves, work, school, etc. that they forget what is far more important in life.
Nice job. |

Woah. This is.. tear-jerking.
One of those pieces that's pretty sad,
but not outright super-emotional, you know?
I like it. I really, really like it.
Thankies for sharing.
Kat.
