The battle roared on
The fear and anguish
Spread through the men
The battle they were fighting
Roared on evermore
The men rose upon a tall mountain
The fought for the glory
They fought for the honor
The fear in their eyes
Controlled the dark night
The despair in their hearts
And the hatred in their eyes
Gave them a sense of false hope
The battle would not be won
Both sides lost the battle that day
One man stood out midst the men
His head was low on his shoulders
His sword hung low upon his arm
The despair had quenched him
He gave up the fight
Who was he to stand alone
Despair had him by the throat
It would kill him then and there
Then the sun rose over the horizon
And he saw the glory of life that day
