Guardian

Contributed by EddieDean on Tuesday, 17th October 2006 @ 12:10:57 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

"I am glad that you are looking out for her" she says to me,
"I look out for all of my friends, that includes you" I reply.
She just looks at me and hugs me tightly.
A tear rolls down her cheek and mine.

I am a Guardian,
I keep an eye out for those I love,
I influence their lives,
Influence their choices
And do my best,
To make them Happy.

Sometimes I work behind the scenes,
Small movements,
Little motions,
All for them.

Other times,
I work openly,
In plain view.
I just want them to be Happy,
For I care about them.

Low few people know I look out for them,
I keep tabs on them,
I keep them from harm,
I protect them from all the evil in the world.

Why do I do this?
Some may ask,
I do this out of Love.

I do it because even if I cannot find happiness,
They should never know pain.
I suffer every day,
No one should feel this agony.
No one but Me.

It's hard to be the Guardian of so many,
But I do it,
I Watch out for them,
I Protect them,
I Influence them.

I am their Guardian,
I am their Protector.

God gives me Strength,
My Heart gives me Courage,
Their Love gives me Reason.

Reason to keep Going,
Courage to see Tomorrow,
Strength to Fight for them.

I am a Guardian.....

Nice work. As one who walks the path of guardian, I feel your pain on this one.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
