The air hangs low as the smell of the last night's debauchery
Still hangs in the air, as a combination
Of wet pavement and putrid human stench
The route down the street is overshadowed by a virtual canopy of neon signs
Reaching my destination, the climb up six flights of stairs
In a decrepit building passing groups of young women
Congregating in the stairwell
Laughing, eating and preparing their makeup for the night
Reaching the top floor the rusted door swings open into a little room
A quiet oasis situated high above the mayhem of the city below
Sitting at the small bar inside is a young girl she is skinny and fragile
Her hair is that of ebony and her skin of alabaster
I approach her & she turns to greet me
She sips her melon line daiquiri we talk for hours
Soon the bar closes and her shift is over
Together we leave and head for home
We walk through the sea of neon & people
Its noisy and crowded and the smell of fried food & cheep alcohol
Cling to the inside of my nose
The night is illuminated with visual stimulants
And my brain is intoxicated with the sights, the smells & the beauty before me
We arrive back home & the rest is kind of blurry
I wake to find morning has come & she is gone
Destined to repeat the actions of last night time & time over
While her soul remains chained to the will of a cruel slave master
