Ashes to Ashes

Contributed by ginsdance on Thursday, 11th July 2002 @ 06:57:22 PM in AEST
Topic: Grief

Tormented echoes piercing the night,
Screams foretelling of horror and fright,
Vigilance that never stands still,
Watching the grave, watching its seal.
Anguish ripping away at my heart
Threatening to tear my very soul apart,
Fearful glances in every direction,
But wordlessly praying for his resurrection.
Hoping that God will intervene
Before death ultimately tears you from me.
The Shadows dance amongst the tears
As you're lowered now towards your worst fear.
Death, no can't have it,
Staring silently at the coffin, hating it,
Wanting to die along with you,
My heart slowly breaking in two.
Twin tears escaping the eyes,
I watch as you're lowered into the ground you despise.

This is such a sad poem. Pulls at the heart strings. I can understand why he hated the ground, knowing it was to be his final resting place. A TALENTED author born with a gold pen in your hand. A GREAT write. (((Hugs))) Yellowrose
