TIRE TRACKS
Run over by life again and again
But life’s accidents I still defend
Yet I travel down the same road I’ve been
Going down life’s highway so black
Nothing to show but life’s tire tracks
Here all across my back
Caught in the rush of life’s traffic
Too many things in life are so distractive
Hoping to avoid life’s wrecks so tragic
Going down life’s highway so black
Nothing to show but life’s tire tracks
Here all across my back
Mapped a new route across life’s various lanes
Desperately longing for life’s scenery to change
Before life’s hit and run drivers once more take aim
Going down life’s highway so black
Nothing to show but life’s tire tracks
Here all across my back
Feeling lost, hungry and oh so weary
Can barely see life now through these eyes so bleary
Finally traveling the familiar road home, I am clearly
Going down life’s highway so black
Nothing to show but life’s tire tracks
Here all across my back
