Death stands as written on the palm of a blind mans hand,
Rubbed off onto the walking stick then broken
By an ungainly teenager rushing to a diner for work –
Unfortunate enough to not look both ways before crossing –
The young teenager dies, hit by a bus. Tomorrow’s headliner
Is next weeks old news, forgotten and left behind in the big city rush,
By all except one old woman weeping her soul away as
The blind man buys a new walking stick,
Unaware of the days tragedy for his sight left long ago –
Taken by his own hand, so he could no longer spy the horrors
Inflicted by the desperate rush to climb the ladder of success.

self-imprisioned by our hunger for what we consider success, we often do fail to see real life happening all around us.
Sad piece unfortunately too true.
Thanks for sharing.
