Prisoner of War

Contributed by Exodus on Sunday, 15th October 2006 @ 02:32:39 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

Is it any wonder...you've been captured and seduced
You live on synthetic sensation, the kind that is never naturally produced

Make me ridged, make me smooth
Cut your fingers on my edges, you know I like to groove

Should we smile if the blood reaches your fingertips?
Or should we run because we hate how things end up like this?

I'm covered in sweat and you're all in my head
You'd better stop the bleeding, or soon you'll be dead

You like to watch it on the pavement, you like to watch the sky
It's always changing, and you never stop to ask why

I love you, I hate you
I sedate myself inside the truth

Feeling outnumbered, never feeling scared
Who wants harmony when disaster is waiting there?

I should have come with a warning, a label on the side
Because now you're stuck, wrapped around my pride

Drowning and sinking so fashionably late
I like to hurry on the flip side, but for you I think I'll wait

Love to hate and hate to love
Your hands are pretty inside that little glove

Believe me when I tell you, soon you'll be asking why
I'm taking no prisoners but you don't have to die
