These I's-Of-Mine

Contributed by Nazmythian on Saturday, 14th October 2006 @ 09:13:00 PM in AEST
Topic: ambiguous

I am all-different-people
In-and-of-myself the same
Different thoughts and different voices
Different needs and different names

We all view the world distinctly
Each unique unto themselves
While they struggle for survival
As we all share this same shell

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~ I am father to such children
I've played no part to conceive
~ I am brother unto many
Who look nothing quite like me
~ I am Warden and those captives
Of the prisons in my mind
~ I am leader of a band
Who's been somehow left behind
~ I am the steadfast skeptic
Who chooses to believe
~ And I, I am the frail Olde Man
Often found upon his knees
~ I am the gardener who tends to
Each and every seed he sows
~ And under careful ministration
I'm the seed become the rose
~ I am poet, I am Minstrel
I am wolf and I am dirt
~ I am a world unto myself
Motion perpetual, inert
~ I am the whispered winds
Blowing soft across the bay
~ I'm the words we've left unspoken
About what I'll never say
~ I am the voice of reason
Tempered by our passion’s flame
~ And I am an entertainer
Make you laugh to hide my pain
~ I am the distant lover
Close enough to feel your touch
~ And I am the complacent one
Who’s left wanting now so much
~ I am wholly separated parts
Of pieces from the past
~ I am somehow eternal
Yet was never meant to last
~ I am kind and I am gentle
I am angry and I rage
~ I am all these puzzle pieces
Inked out here upon this page
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I am all-different-people
In-and-of-myself, it’s true
And we recognize each other
By the tone of voice I use

I am all-different-people
We-myself are intertwined
Look with care and you by chance might see
All these I’s-of-mine

your "I"s are certainly not clouded. Wish we all could see the naked truth of ourselves as you have. Really enjoyed it Keep on writing.

A beautiful introspective view of you.

I feel privileged to know your many "I;s" and intrigued by the ones you've yet to reveal.

Love you

~Shannon

Naz, This was one of the best poems I think I've had the pleasure to read, in a while. You say so much about how you (and each of us), are so many. I just read this, and felt warmth, joy and mystery as well. Fabulous write, my friend. The many "I's" you are, make you a wonderful brother and poet. Peace to you, man.
Laura (who really dug this write)

Yet all the I's make "You"!
as all my I's make me...and I wouldn't have it any other way.
Introspective and seperated, but put together with class!

Naz,
Very well done. This poem really strikes me as a philosophical write. It deals very creatively with the who am i question as the I theme.

Ah yes, the many parts of self. A very interesting write, Nazzy

Naz,

The way you present the diversity of yourself, indeed all of us, is spell-binding. I often wonder how much of our potential do we utilize. There are all the parts, and then all the mediators to help us deal with the parts.

A challanging and thought provoking write. Personally I like what few parts I know, my friend.

Every one of us has such an array of different aspects inside ourselves, just as no person ever sees us as quite the same; but many of us do not have the self-awareness needed to be able to present these selves to the reader as eloquently as you have.

Wonderful read,
Take care,
Dom
