Bleak Thoughts of This Woman

Contributed by jerseysue on Saturday, 14th October 2006 @ 04:34:20 PM in AEST
Topic: selfstruggles

One step forward two steps back,
Oh whats this lady to do,
I try to go forward do my best,
And life kicks me back thats true,

I try to be good as I should,
No enemies I want to make,
But me as I am just get stuck in a jam,
So again I have made a mistake,

I work hard for my living, am honest and giving,
And am generous to all of my friends,
I scrimp and save, and work like a slave,
But my overdraft won't come to an end,

I go out once in a while, it does make me smile,
But my halo is starting to wilt,
For its no land of honey, spending good money,
In fact it just fills me with guilt,

Tomorrow I will be good, as I really should,
Clean the windows and vacuum the floor,
I will stay away all day from the computer I say,
Even though its the thing I adore,

But where would I be, without my poetry,
Its the thing that keeps me quite sane,
I think I should wait, and let life be my fate,
And stop worrying , be happy again,

So here is my words, perhaps they are absurd,
But they are how I am feeling tonight,
I know not what I seek, I am feeling quite bleak,
But tomorrow I may just see the light.

Your are sat at your keyboard bashing away
Knowing you have had an awful day
I know what you mean and what you feel
You're just trying to get on and even keel
I love to read what you have wrote
Sometimes you bring a lump to my throat
I have no answers to the dilemas you face
But your poetry is your saving grace

Don't try to change yourself - whatever works for you works for you. If you enjoy the comp and writing, you must give yourself time for it - esp. if your working so hard.
You can't deny who you are!
Nice poem and the rhyming pattern was well done.

- Tim

Aw sue .. I get this .. SOOOOO get this.

I agree with lilly though .. you shouldn't feel bad for
indulging in something that really makes you happy.
(Especially since it is not so terrible a vice .. if it even
can be VIEWED as such .. lol)

What is life for if not to enjoy right? Keep writing and
posting, hun. It's good for the soul. : )

best of luck to you~

Life can be so very hard.
I think you deserve to have
your down time. I hope
you can find a balance
that allows you to enjoy
yourself more. Don't
worry to much about those
windows. When I'm dying I will
not ask myself - did I clean
enough windows? All I will
ask myself is - Did I enjoy my
time here. best wishes , Truly Doug

My friend you should never ever feel guilty for spending some money every now and then on a good time. We take nothing with us when we pass from this world. I so much agree with Doug. I would rather go from this world knowing that I enjoyed my time here than to think I spent all my life slaving away.
Chin up sweet lady we have our bouts of these thoughts. Dismiss them and enjoy life hun. Rock on superstar~
big warm huggers,
Sue M
