I'm ill,
I need sympathy.
Hot chicken soup,
And sugary tea.
Runny nose, croaky voice,
And the sneezing's a clue.
I'm not making this up.
I must have the flu.
I've told her my symptoms,
She says it's a cold.
I've said it's the flu,
But she just wont be told!
Is it too much to ask,
That she looks after me,
As I lie on the couch,
And watch the TV?
But she doesn't want to know,
There's too much to do,
Though she agrees in the end,
That I must have man-flu!

lol!! I hear you mate! and I like the end - even though she said flu, it wasn't, it was man-flu. It's a way around the arguement while not actually changing her mind!! I've been there!!
As for the rest - is it really too much to ask to be cared for when you feel like hell? She comes home in tears because someone said something unkind to her and you do all you can that evening to pick her up and won't show sympathy for a sick man? Ah - the enigma of the female!! Still, you can't help but love them!
lol - u put a smile on my face!
Very, very good write!!!

Haha! Every guy I know has man-flu at least once over the winter holidays; us women struggle through, go to work because we feel guilty, come home and attempt to keep things nice, etc, and what does a guy do in the same position? Pulls a sickie, messes up the living room and moans every ten seconds... I sound like a housewife, when actually I'm a student, but hey! If you think man-flu is bad... try pmt! :P

Exactly - it'sa guy thing/ailment and well expressed, with all the manly whimpering you could muster! (lol). If only the ladies could understand this and all the other manly aspects of our characters -Mancrying, Manshopping etc, we'd all get on so much better!
