There's come a time this dreary time
for I whose heart has flown
o're all the fields of a sweeter time
by words so aptly shown.
'Tis only now my soul's renounced
those dreams so bright and fond;
that came a time to die at once..
my words have naught-beyond.
The sun has set on either shore
in an instant all was night
and so should life at once be o're
words have taken flight.
Though all our northern days gleam on
through twilights dim delay
..the cold remains and lustre gone
of musings passed away.

This is sad, but thought provoking too. Especially these lines:
Though all our northern days gleam on
through twilights dim delay
..the cold remains and lustre gone
of musings passed away.
I enjoyed reading this so much, it gave me goosebumps. Thanks for sharing. Sue x |

Billy,
shades of blue escape these beautiful words my friend.
my words have naught beyond, so soulful..
Your words are always a delight to read and your pen soars to everyones heart....

I don't know how to say this but this write is awsome.
The sun has set on either shore
in an instant all was night
and so should life at once be o're
words have taken flight.

My dearest ..
the topic has paired meanings, I believe, given the words that enfold this
forlorn and grieving piece .. there is much to ponder in here .. from a "leaving
this earthly realm" point of view, it sings a soft and woeful good-bye ..
but could it not be seen as a metaphor for a passing of a time in life ... or
a relationship perhaps?
Every stanza is wrought with a genius of musings that sets a reader off
in search of meanings .. and it is this very brilliance of your work that I so
adore. The fact that there is so much to learn, see, and awaken within
our very own hearts. You have such an amazing talent.
Completely and utterly awed .. time and time again ~
all my love,
~Breezy

Putting the past in the past is real hard when it wont leave your mind. This time…maybe it can really be gone.

hey bro,
i know that this type of poem (rhyming) is not your favorite style, but you've executed this one perfectly...seems to be full of sadness, yet it's easy to lose sight of that as it flows so well and is so beautifully done...
nice job,

words have taken flight
You've managed an impressive Epilogue here, dear poet. This alone might be enough to give me hope were I you. But I... I can't even figure out what to carve on the tombstone.
~Snem
(who is going to let that, though brief, attempt to convey the very-much she considered as she read this piece) |

FRAUD!
Sir Thomas Moore again! Billy this is among the most famous of poets. How dare you! How could you think you would get away with this? You are stupid and unorginal and and criminally dumb!
