The Man And The Demon

Contributed by Channing on Monday, 9th October 2006 @ 11:18:58 PM in AEST
Topic: selfstruggles

Tracing the curves
Of a body so perfectly molded
Touching the lips
That could easily ignite a fire
Splits my mind and body apart
And the demon is born
The demon that is my body
Yet my mind remains the man
That man that it needs to be
And the battle begins within me
For the man and demon
Want different things
The demon wants to destroy
To tear down the sky
Claim what it wants
No matter the cost
Even if loved ones are hurt
Yet the man stands in the way
Fighting the demon back
For the man loves her
And won’t let the demon’s hate
Destroy all they’ve created
So they clash
And I fight myself
I tear myself apart
The man always ending victorious
But he only wins battles
For the war rages on
And he would ask for her help
To make him not so crazy
To ease the conflict
But what kind of man is that?
Besides no one can help
For I must fight myself alone
The man must remain alone
He must fight the demon alone
And if he wins
Then life with her will be perfect
Yet if he loses
Then the demons thirst
Will be quenched
And the destruction of love
Will consume all
So I root for the man
I pour my heart into the man
For I love her
