Poor Little Me

Contributed by Ruby2sdy on Monday, 9th October 2006 @ 04:08:47 PM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

My poor little heart is breaking tonight,
My mascara’s running; not a pretty sight,
I’m looking a mess, but I no longer care,
Because what does it matter, if he’s not there?
My poor little eyes are crying tonight,
My heart loves a man, and it just isn’t right;
I’m going to lose him, and he never were mine,
He doesn’t even know; he thinks I’m doing fine.
He doesn’t notice the way that I crack,
When he walks away, turning his back,
The way my heart shatters, like glass upon stone,
When he falls into her arms, and leaves me on my own,
He sees me as his friend, and I suppose that’s what I am;
As weary as a soldier, as slaughtered as the lamb.

"Why are all the good ones married?"

TUESDAY!!!!!?
That statement is So not true...
I wasn't always married... LOL
You need to go find that guy that is
not married and mold them to your liking...
You will have no problem finding him...
Look under every Rock... LOL

Buck up little friend...

I still like you... And I am here for you...

Bill

aw..2sdy .. I'm sorry you are in this place. I know it
can't be easy. That last line is so painful .. [and
understandable. ]

I hope things get better for you soon .. you deserve to
be happy with someone who is free to be with you.

*hugs*

~Breezy
(hoping for better days for you, my friend)

The good ones aren't all married - marriage has a way of making many look better than they did unmarried. You just have to develop finer eyesight, I suppose.

Generally I find rhyme doesn't suit pieces like this; it's just too restrictive. Developing a free verse style that really flows well is hard, but definitely worth the effort. I liked the last line to this one, though.

This is a very sad write, my daughter has a good male friend, who she worships. He wants her as just a friend, and she is heartbroken. But she won't let him see that she does care for him, either through embarassment or she doesn't want to lose his friendship. Anyway it was an emotional well written piece, I was engrossed by it. Take care . Sue x

It's sometimes the hardest thing to be - friends with the one you want more from. I know from my own experience the terrible dichotomy that creates; half of you wants to leave and never see them again in the hope that the anguish will finaly cease whilst the other half treasures the friendship you have and wouldn't lose that for anything. Perhaps there's even a small part that thinks 'if something goes wrong I'll be there for them and something might happen...'

I have to agree with everone else here. The last line is a good one, raw with emotion.

Good job
:D
