Faded leather
And blackened hair
Were the only things I knew.
A memory now forgotten
Of a handsome boy once known,
His departure left me broken
Aching for his love once more.
Slender fingers
Gentle hands
Once caressed my face.
But now they belong to someone else
His touch just a mere shadow.
And now I am placed back in the corner
A forgotten poem in
The dusty drawers of time.

Oh, I am so very glad I stopped to read this. Not at all what I was expecting. What an excellent bittersweet write. I love how you wrote it....words flow almost in a sad melody. The ending really got me...
"A forgotten poem in
The dusty drawers of time."
It is good that you can express your woes with words. I wish you well.
Peace, Laura |
