Come the Fall

As the leaves wave us farewell,
The end of summer we can tell,
From green to brown to none at all,
Gone warmth, welcome chill of fall.
Nights are dark and long,
Huddled shiver the shopping throng,
The rain drives, the wind attacks,
Umbrellas inside out, soaked Macs.
Take time to watch the season go,
Feel now the icy cold, drifting snow,
I yearn right now for summer’s heat,
And crashing waves across my feet.
