Someone I Never Knew

Contributed by gabby521 on Thursday, 5th October 2006 @ 04:01:26 PM in AEST
Topic: SongLyrics

So I'm wond'ring now what it will take

For you to notice me

Do I need to cry and let you know

Of hidden spite or jealousy?

I don't know what more to tell you

Without crossing that vanishing line

Between what it is that should be said

and what's better left to time

you know that I love you

no matter what you do

you no that I'll defend you

no matter what the mistake

and you know that I'll forgive you

no matter how it hurts

And I'll not give up on you, on us

No matter how long it takes

I want to be that someone again

The reason you are here

The one to put a smile on your face

I want that time alone with you that fills me with a quiet fear

A fear for knowing that it's wrong

And you're no longer you

And "you" is someone I'm not sure

I ever really knew

But you know that I love you

No matter what you do

And you know that I'll defend you

No matter what the mistake

You know that I'll forgive you

Despite how it hurts, oh how it hurts

But I'll not give up on you, on us, on everything

And I don't care how long it takes

And I try my hardest not to cry

For fear that tears will say that I

Am nothing more than what you wanted me to be

And I hate to say it hurts so bad

'Cause I try so hard not to show it and

Still I know it gets harder everyday for me

But somehow I'll still love you

No matter what you do

And please don't use that even more

To break my heart in two

You know that you're forgiven

But I'm the one that's hurt

Do I give up now on you, on us

For what I know will never work?

I look into your eyes and see

The part of me defined by you

But "you" is someone I'm not sure

I ever really knew

  • Powerful ending in particular, though I felt that the chorus was a bit too long.

Maybe I'm just used to the chorus being shorter than the verses.

    Thanks for sharing, nonetheless.
