Life deficiency

Contributed by sour_gurl67 on Wednesday, 4th October 2006 @ 02:20:26 AM in AEST
Topic: oops

I'm floating in the atmosphere of lies
lethargic and so frail decomposing through their eyes
As the walls close in I'm suffocating once again
shaking from the bitter pain seeping through my skin so thin

Check for my pulse, do you feel any life inside?
expressionless face, no emotion, condition so misapplied
I don't deserve this...what have I done?
I don't deserve this...no not what I've become

I'm soaring above the hollow world where the people they smile but they don't know why
I'll never fake my feelings for anyone's benefit, oh I'm so through with it
So full of fear you are and hiding inside your distorted facts
It's a sickness and we're all infected there's no turning back

Check for a pulse, is there any sign of life here?
walking around like machines we've gorged ourselfs on their pointless garbage
do we deserve this...no but it's no use
we don't deserve this...no what we deserve is the truth

You believe in anything they say, you're weak minded and easy prey
All over the world wars rage, still you believe anything they say
and if we all explode in the end, it will be because of them

Fantastic write here...

I felt "THEM" as being the governments of the world....

I have been thinking about this pretty hard of late...
and I have been feeling anger about it... I feel there
is no pulse and we are just lemmings marching off to slaughter...

Thank You

Bill

(I hope I got this right)

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
