This is my attempt at an adult life. It has so far been incomparably unattainable.
This is my last chance, to do what’s right, my actions are deliberately unexplainable.
When the wind starts to push and the clock blows its eerie horn,
Then a rush, a desolate, forlorn, existence on my own
Only one other like it, to have ever been known
Do I amuse you
Does this feel safe
Id rather not loose you
In an emergency
Break the glass case
Housing the demons
Arousing
The sleeping giant
This is how it ends
Would I ever waiver
Do I not show my resolve
Have my defenses collapsed
How did I ever get this involved
In a irony so defensible
A causality of the irreversible
A pin-up poster
From upper class
To squalor
To predictable
Much of a bother
A midnight holler
Down to my last dollar
Have I taunted you
Haunted your box
Outwitted your brain
Who had claimed
To have sharpened the tool
Of the sly fox
Makes no mistakes
In the values it protects
Is indiscriminate
In the lives it takes
And claims to insanity
You honor
I object
Too much intimacy
Strung by the neck
Have I spoken too soon
Have these words rung out to you
So true-
And hardly a new,
Concept or idea
Which places burdens
And attributes
Distributes
And solicits
A contribution
For a cause
Without any retribution
Or remorse
For the lost

Good grief!!
M .. I do NOT know what to make of this write, but I have to say
it has pushed me up against a wall and slapped me to
attention. These words are powerful, though I don't even know
why exactly they have stirred my emotions.
It always puzzles me that you post under "no topic". Are you
leaving the decision up to your readers? Is it, in some way,
a deliberate decision to allow the reader to take away what
he will? In any case, this is exceptional, my friend.
Very thought provoking.

I LOVE that

This kind of abstract poetry always astounds me..reminds me of the 50's or 60's when the beatnicks would stand up in coffee houses drinking their espresso and just ramble things understood only to themselves.. too much intimacy strung by the neck..what the hell does that mean? |
