Behind my eyes

Contributed by nothingness on Tuesday, 3rd October 2006 @ 08:32:21 AM in AEST
Topic: secrets

Next time I am standing alone take a good look at me
Look into my eyes and tell me what you feel and see
Can you see the shadows that outline my pain?
Can you see the tears built up as a storms rain?
Can you see through my eyes and into my soul?
Can you see everything falling apart that had made me whole?
Don’t be fooled by my determined act and convincing mask
And don’t bother trying to help or even trying to ask
Just see past the lies that I have built over the years
And feel my pain and taste all of my sorrowful tears
Why is it when people look as me they know I’m true
That I can keep their secrets no matter how much regret runs through
They spill there burdens that I can never deny
And then I feel their pain and am left to ask why
Why do such good people always get the raw deal?
Why am I always asked to make their wounds heal?
I know everyone needs someone to spill their secrets to
But then the other has to sit there with nothing to do
The secrets weigh heavy on my heart like a burning stone
Knowing these are now my secrets and mine alone
I can not share these tales of misery or these saddened cries
So I hold them with me, only visible to see through my eyes
I know its slowly destroying everything that was once me
But know one has to know, nothing will stop me from hearing your plea
Maybe its my soul purpose or perhaps why I am here
To listen and ease everyone else’s pains and fear
So I will be hear to listen to you and to sympathize
And know all of your secrets will be safe behind my eyes.

I know this feeling, always helping others but never really get helped out? Life is hard, struggles make us stronger, the more you are willing to bare, the more you will care.

~To feel is what makes you human~

Being everyone's shoulder to lean on is quite a burden...I don't get many secrets, just "will you take me here, will you take me there" and "I'm too drunk, can you come get me @ the bar?" :) Just remember, God never gives you anything more than you can handle, and if it feels like it is too much, just ask him fot help! It's always worked for me!

I liked this, it's different. If only there wasn't a price to pay for honesty, such a mixed up world we live in. Remember; the world can carry the weight of one person, but the person cannot carry the weight of one world. Keep on writing, it helps to keep you sane!

This is SO GOOD.

This is one of my favorite poems I've read here, EXACTLY how I feel about some things.

These parts:
Next time I am standing alone take a good look at me
Look into my eyes and tell me what you feel and see
Can you see the shadows that outline my pain?

I know everyone needs someone to spill their secrets to
But then the other has to sit there with nothing to do
The secrets weigh heavy on my heart like a burning stone
Knowing these are now my secrets and mine alone
I can not share these tales of misery or these saddened cries
So I hold them with me, only visible to see through my eyes

are awesome. i will definitely read this again when I feel horrible.

Cool! ^^
