A Rainy Day

It starts dripping and soon commences the falling of rain,
the sun finds comfort in clouds that stretch the plane,
droplets splatter on the ground beneath,
the sky charges and releases a fresh breath.
Rivers overflow and spur the collapse of walls,
trees tremor the shivering wind as hail falls,
the splashing mud paints pictures on the halls,
a felines' irritation of discomfort echo'ingly calls.
The succombing silence with few words the sunrays greet,
an array of colours spray the skies where the leprechauns retreat,
the earth warms the awakening of the sun,
birds chirping and suddenly the memory is gone...

Really nice write. I liked the way you described the situation. Natural disasters maybe? |
