'Wednesday's child is full of woe;
Thursday's child has far to go'
(excerpt from C19th nursery rhyme)
You’ve been told, time and again,
Your reckless actions will bring pain
Poor, poor mother broke her back
When you callously stepped on that crack
And from the sky an angel falls,
Whenever you play with your *****
Your sister too, grimaced in the wind
Now she looks like a cow’s rear end
So pull a face at your own peril,
Lest you’re in league with the Devil
A shattered mirror, where’s your sense?
Seven years of recompense
And all your lies cause God to cry,
Raindrops from the all-seeing Eye
Selfish child, born with teeth
Your parents will have no relief
And under the ladder - have you forgotten?
Our luck is now completely rotten
We should have known you’d be our shame,
With 13 letters in your name
Now off to bed and say your prayers!
(The boogyman waits upstairs).

LMAO Hee Hee at the bleeping, too funny. Man, the poor kiddies and scare tactics some parents will use. I can remember some of this stuff as a child. Love the pic at the end; so appropriate. Thanks for sharing this cleaver little write.
Peace, Laura |

Oh my dear friend, spikerlicious!!!
I was laughing desperately at this .. thank you so much
for a post that has me in such a state. ( I think I should
stop now while the mood is so jovial)
Amazing talent you possess, my friend, to be able to
pen a poetic piece with such whimsy. I remember those
absurd rhymes and superstitions ... this was fun, S.

You have a way with words! Are you this articulate in person? Dark and humorous, but you've made your point. You are an artist! |
