I Cry

Contributed by undead_poet14 on Friday, 14th February 2003 @ 11:20:29 PM in AEST
Topic: LoveRemembered

My heart is a crying child in the night
Never heard, never noticed
My soul feels like it's ablaze
Burned and arid

Pain scratching at my face
I cry tears of scarlet
A life without friends
I stare into the dark
A life without family
I shout out in anguish
A life without that someone you love
I shed tear of sorrow

Spiraling, spinning, sinking into a deep dark chasm
I cry out for help but nobody hears
I've given up that anyone will come

Breaking the dismal shadows, your eyes are a startling light
A hand reaches down and takes my own
Your face comes into view
Your arms embrace me, warming my hardened and iced over heart
For the first time in my life
I feel as though someone cares
I pray to God to let this warmth last

I liked it. I found it was very deep and calls for the reader to actually think about and/or envision the ideas you've expressed. The depressive and longing loss or longing emotions that make up the beginning, followed by the fulfillment and pleasure that is garnered by the one who comes along to fill the void.

Keep up the good work and never stop expressing so artistically the emotions within the way you have here.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
