Life Long Tunage

Contributed by oneir8dude on Friday, 29th September 2006 @ 10:40:33 PM in AEST
Topic: InspirationalPoems

Today I took a small break form the grind…
For an electrician was in a space that was mine…

I went outside to my service van…
Threw my tools, I was angry. Man!!!

I said nothing when I left…
My whole day ruined, a kind of DAY THEFT

My mind wasn’t moving, Stuck on one thing…
So I turned on the radio and began to sing…

“It’s been a long time since I’ve Rock N Rolled”
Zeppelin was playing… My troubles did fold…

The beat grabbed me and took me away…
To a place I usually always stay…

But, I am only human, a man that can fall…
If I can’t hear the music, I feel two feet tall…

As I felt the calm come and anger lack…
On the radio came “Savin’ Me” Nickelback…

“Say it if it’s worth savin’ me, hurry I’m falling"
The words grabbed me and the anger again was calling…

When I felt the ugliness return…
I felt selfish, like this anger I earned

I changed the station and what was on…
But Aerosmith’s ballad “Dream On” …

“Dream on, Dream on, Dream until your dreams come true”
As I heard these words the meaning of life rang through…

I was being unruly and needed to be…
The way I was raised, this was not me…

The guy didn’t ruin my day on purpose…
My dismay for this day was worthless…

I went back into the site…
He was gone and all was right…

I came back with a smile on my face…
And back to it I began to race…

Lyrics soothe and music is the root of life…
It can make you smile or cut like a knife…

When ever you’re down turn on the radio…
Pop in a CD or tape, you can even watch a video…

The point I am trying to make…
There is meaning in song that you can take…

It will either help or make you feel worse…
It can make you smile or make you curse…

The world would be bland if not for a tune…
It brings great thought and a shine to the moon…

So what I say to you. When you are feeling mad or blue…
Throw on a song to help you through…

Sing it loud and sing it true….
It can only help you…

“Be-Bop-A-Lula Don’t Mean Maybe”...

I love the photo at the top, what an awsome outdoor theater.

Ilike the content of this poem however I feel the author is too concerned with rhyming and it somewhat takes away from it. He could also perhaps spend some time with spell checking as misspelled words tend to take away fom the flow of the work.

Red Rocks, man?? I'd love to see a show there. I dug your write. I know exactly what you mean about the music. My life is sure different, and that happened because of music. Sort of saved me in away. (Born again Deadhead) Hee Hee

Ya know..negative comments are ok if they aren't mean spirited and really serve the purpose that is intended..to improve one's ability to write. The poem was great and the photo looks like where I live in the Antelope Valley.. is it?

Bill~
it's such a delight to visit your pages my dear friend. This wonderful write of yours had me bopping along to its tune. What would it be like if we had no music to rock n roll to? Hell I don't want to even think that way, lol.
Here's to good times and rock n roll~
Well done Bill and thanks so much for posting this.
*rock n roll hugs & smiles*
