The black rain clouds loom overhead
A dark storm is brewing on the horizon
Shots of thunder sound from over the churning Atlanic waters
Birds stop chirping
Deer stop running
Something is happening
The thunder rumbles louder
A black abyss even now flows through our lands
Awakening the greed and evil inside of us
Slightly heavy droplets begin to fall unpon our asphalt jungle
Taking an umbrella
Shielding myself against the hardening beads of water
I gaze up into the somewhat dark sky
Clutching the curved handle of my umbrella tighter
It at least offers some protection from the gathering storm
Maybe it will pass
Maybe it will destroy us all
Let it come
I only hope the sun will come out
And with its comforting glow
Will banish the dark away

Very descriptive writing. You have a gift for seeing things that others don't. Better keep on cultivating this talent. Great-Grandma Bizzy |
