Just for today
I’ll hide it with a smile
All the pain that’s inside
Please just let it all pass by.
But when the night begins to glimmer
Beneath the diamond sky
I cannot promise to you
For my smile;
It will die
It will break
And fade away
Off into the night
It will leave me by myself
And try to find the light
But my eyes
They will shed
All the tears that have hid
My tears will begin to fall
Gleaming down my cheeks
Shimmer like a sky diamond
And they wont stop
Until a new day begins
And they will run and hide
Building up for the night
They will hide behind my smile
And wait for their right time.

Good hold of things, loosing those who just want to be lost, it's tough, It's hard, they come back in my experience but I'm no therapist and you damn well don't want me to be, so as to that I know, or at least expect. It was a lovley little read. I hope you rewrite it when you're settled, not to say unemotional but settled, settled to a point where you can tell me your story so I can listen, and we can cry together. That's always best. You see someone the day their dad died of cancer and you go damn I wish I could relate. they tell you the story a year later at some kind of organized retreat with red fruit punch and finger foods and you just bust out in tears. Give me the tears. You've got them. |
