I miss you so you say
But you don’t choose to stay
Here today gone tomorrow
O it brings me such great sorrow
You give yourself to help the world
While your family stays behind
Helping the poor and the dissolute
While your family pines for your time
Daddy why are you always gone
I’ve missed you in my life
Daddy I’m grown now but please know
I’ll always miss you when you go

So sad... there are so many men (and women too) that just won't step up to the plate. There is always talk of father's who leave their families, but there are those who legally stay, but are not present in the lives of their children. It's a terrible cycle that needs to be stopped. It's good to know that you do care for him, regardless. Just always keep that door open to him. I hope he comes around, eventually for your sake. Thanks for sharing. |

Until I read the comments left here... I interpreted this
to say that daddy was a soldier.... Did I miss this totally? Because although the families of soldiers are proud... They still do not have thier Daddy...
Just my interperitation of this beuatiful write...
Thank You for this share...
and May God Bless you...
Bill

My dad is actually a missionary. He has been traveling all my life. He mostly goes to Africa now, he has a ministry to the orphans and also a feeding program and well repair. I feel selfish but I hate it when he is gone, almost more now that I am an adult-its strange. I'm afraid he'll die overseas I guess. Thanks for all the feedback! |
