Suicide

I can't remember why I'm out here
My thought are all a blur
Tears sting in my eyes
Freezing on my cheeks
Every breath searing my throat
Inhaling the frigid air
I gave up on coherent thoughts
As hypothermia sets in
I can't feel the wind anymore
But I can see it rip at my skin
trying to pull flesh from my bones
biting at me with icy tendrils
longing for my pain
I can't feel it
Barely away of my body now
I can tell I'm still walking
But it's not me anymore
I'm a slave
Lost to insanity
My instincts tell me to stop
I won't listen
I must go further
Escape my life
Walk into the oblivion in front of me
No one will miss me
Breathing has become harder
I can't feel my chest
Cold has fogged my mind
The ground sways
Or is it me?
Gravity claims me
Unresistable
I succumb to my frozen hell
Where I will never be found.

First of all, "freezing alive" was good by it self, but next the whole poem was good, until the end... "where I will never be found," Now THAT was profound and powerfull....
Thank you for this write. It was great.

The title captured me, I didn't even realize until after I read this, that it was suicide poetry. I generally as a rule don't read it. The write was very good, very descriptive. Slow, painful death there, man. I hope you are not contemplating this move. Once you've left this earthly realm as you.....it's done, no more. I'm too friggen stubborn, days ache indeed at times, but I'm to curious as to what's gonna happen next. Continue to express yourself and frustrations through words, man. I look forward to reading more of your stuff.
Peace, Laura |
