An Ailing Mind

Contributed by wizard on Tuesday, 26th September 2006 @ 11:19:25 PM in AEST
Topic: selfstruggles

A sinner upon this finest line...
Broken from where he’s been, and what’s been seen.
He, his only keeper, vigilant in all his ways, never wanting
To realize this hopeless truth.

Affliction inflicted by his very hand;
Nothing to heal his ailing mind…
Too much never being enough,
Another day of screaming cries
Without a fallen whispering tear.

His times forever troubled, transgressing
Through these endless days -
The Merlot glass beckons, yet can’t be had,
Not the frosty brew, nor a vice for fun or fad.
A mind that can’t be smoked away,
Nor brought to a better place.
A nicotine addiction goes unfed
Strolling for yet another day through his empty head...
Nothing to heal his ailing mind.

No innocence as a boy,
Not a truth to be spoken or heard,
No love for giving and none to receive,
A tale which may never cease.

Sounds like a cycle of self-struggle, Wiz, and if it's a personal one, remember the monkeywrench of goodness in ya will wreck that cycle very soon. It's the way life goes! As always, when I read your work, I'm impressed and in awe. Great write!

Dearest Paul~
It saddens my heart to read such a sad and painful write by you my dear friend. What you speak of is a vicious cycle of what some us struggle with during our lives. Just remember dearest Paul not all is bad and that things will look up for you~
Your poem touched the depths of my heart and I felt your pain through your words. I wish you good tidings and a much happier and brighter future my dear friend. Chin up sweet guy, you're a born fighter and you should be really proud of all the things that you have achieved in your life and of what you can still achieve. Believe in yourself Paul~ you're an awesome guy who deserves so much love, joy and happiness in his life.
Take care my dear friend.
love, hugs n prayers,
Sue M

Bro..
people may and people might~
..that is to say, that though their intentions are direct and sincere..with respects to comments and such..[which can linger and are more powerful than we realize] I see them as dubious, at best-
and though, we are not the only ones who have suffered this hand of fate, there
is a certain morbid comradery that comes with it..
thus, narrowing the elite circle of those we gladden and trust.
I feel ya bro - in every single way~

This, Pailie..is a MOST courageous post..

..and so, much of the same love to you~

*Eternally yours*

Billy

Life is difficult and a struggle, more for some than for others. Your poem reflects an unsettling aspect of that laborious conflict of daily life. Your work was extremely well written and heart-rending.
