Illuminations

Contributed by Man_On_High on Tuesday, 26th September 2006 @ 09:38:55 PM in AEST
Topic: SadPoetry

My fearful brother-
what frightful nights I owe him!
..and I have not put enough
ardor into this enterprise.
I have trifled with his infirmity-
and my fault,
should we go back to exile,
is to imply that we were unlucky
and of a very strange innocence-
adding, as we live throughout life,
the disquiet of a better way.

For reply, I would jeer the joust of reason-
and in the end,
I would create, beyond the countryside,
cross-bands of rare music:
'phantoms of a nocturnal verse'
..extravagance to come!

Lo! After this vauge diversion,
I would lie down and no sooner sleep
than my poor brother would rise~
..his mouth foul, staring back from his head;
just as I had dreamed.

I had in truth, pledged myself,
to restore him to our primitive state
of childhood under the sun..
nourished by the wines of many 'a fate-
though still, we wander.. impatient to find that single place.

blown away by this bro!

the last line made me think that perhaps
there is no single place worth finding, but
rather the many places we find throughout
the journey that makes us what we are..for
better or worse...there is no way to take away
a bond as that which this poem speaks, only
to modify it. malleable as this bond may be,
at times it seems broken, yet it is "Quick To
Mend", as often evidenced by our own
skirmishes.

foolish boys act in foolish ways (and often
grow up to be foolish men), but in the end, if
one "gets cut", the other will always be there
with an awaiting bandage...for, as they say,
love conquers all... ;)

much love to you,

paul

I was hopeful Paul would comment on this piece of absolute genius so I could read what his reaction would be, not to imply or ASS-U-Me that he is the only "fearful brother". As he, this blew me away! It's remarkable how you put things (emotions) in words that can only be classified as "absolute genius". You're a master, Billy, makin' this a masterpiece!

My dear friend, Billy~ the emotion behind this piece is so heartfelt. You and Paul have had more than your fair shares of down days, but what keeps you together is that "special" brotherly bond that you share. A bond like this can never be broken, although things might get shaky a little, but the love you guys have for each will always conquer anything you come up against. Billy once again you have penned a true masterpiece. A poetic King whose beautiful heart shines radinatly throughout his work. Wishing you and Paul a rainbow of warm wishes. May whatever your hearts desire come true for you are two most special and deserving souls~ Take care my dear friend. love from your devoted fan, Sue M

Sweet and gentle Billy ..

I love this. I totally do. [and the reactions to it as well. :) ]

Your heart, and the depth to which reaches is enormous.
Never have I, in all my years, felt someone so stirring ..
so giving .. so magnanimous .. so completely beautiful!!

Nor shall I, in future years. Anyone, (and I do mean ANYONE)
that has come to know you; that has been touched by the light
that is you; that has been brought to a place they knew not
about before you; that has been moved to tears from your
words and amazing soul ... has been lovingly blessed
forevermore ~

You, are truly a magnificent. In all aspects of the
word, my dearest.

This piece is touching, selfless and everything I have
come to expect and adore from you. FILLED with you.

beautiful

love ever and always, sweetheart ~

~Breezy
