End of Mine

The darkness that constant smothers me
Greys up, way too occasionally
Rarely, yea, rarely to paler shades of hope.
The granite sealed mood set stonily in my soul
Sends tendrils up through the ebon reality
Searching for the elusive haze of almost happiness.
The numbness that cradles me like a babe
Halts suffering to keep me from crumbling away
Into obscure nothingness, anonymity.
The light winked out eons ago. Gone. Disappeared.
Not with the sharp POP of a bulb protesting existence
But quietly, without dignity. Expiring with a whimpered sigh.
Thumps

It flowed very well, so I give you five thumps, Thumper. “Smile” things can change in an instinct. May peace be with you.

This is sad and emotional. Depression, at its worst. But what brings us down, can also make us fight harder, to prove we can beat it. Not sure if that makes sense written down. Well I know it works. Take care, your words spoke a lot of truth. Sue x |
