i hate this
i hate the incense of hatred
i hate how this makes no sense
but i love how it makes me cry
i hate how it's dead inside
i hate how spoken words never sail my way
i hate the way i feel sometimes
but i love how i makes me think
i hate the person that i've become
i hate how i'm misunderstood
i hate that i've memorized my goodbyes
but i love how one day they'll be for good

No, you don't love it; you've grown comfortable with it, it has become an emotional equivalent of a favorite pastime. But it may not be the best pastime for your mind. Writing poetry takes some perceptiveness, an ability to see deeper meanings in yourself that may be hidden in very murky waters. It's not easy, but keep at it, and be open to change.
