A Muslim in London city

A Muslim in London city

Good morning London city
What will you have in store for me today?
Will you stop me? Or will you lead the way?

Good multicultural London city
What will you call me today?
Will you ask me why I wear my clothes in this way?

Good free London city
What will the Police stop me for today?
Will it be the old terrorism act that’s here to stay?

Good loving London city
What will you search today?
My neighbourhood
My house
My mosque

Good understanding London city
Won’t you keep my trust?
I guess making my life hell
Will quench your thirst.

I wonder why are Muslims treated this way in the west. If the people have this excuse that Muslims are spreading terrorism around the world, then they must know that it is the activities of Westerners in Afghanistan and Iraq that are converting good, innocent people into suicide bombers.

Islam has been reduced to a religion of hate and intolerance by a vast number of its extremist members. Their ideologies, coupled with the violence they preach leaves no choice but for a swift and comprehensive response. If moderate Muslims, who do not agree with the overwhelmingly popular attitude of their clerics and preachers, which when boiled down is a religion of death, then they should speak out when effigies of the Pope, flags of Israel and America, and others symbols of democratic freedoms (such as the fundamental right of free speech (ex. draw caricature of their so called prophet)) are being burned in their streets…they should speak out against it…but they don’t…when their brethren strap on bombs and blow away women and children on busses and trains and tall buildings…they should speak out against it…but they don’t…they dance in the street, as if they are inviting war…their leadership is absent…as are their morals and respect for human life…so they are included with the terrorists…and they should, at the very least, be questioned…because they choose to sit in silence. If the Muslims you speak of, truly feel differently then the terrorists, then they should make that known to the world by denouncing and condemning those they supposedly are at odds with, otherwise those hunting terrorists, can not distinguish the good from the bad…if the good ones do actually exists somehwere…let them show their faces and be heard…but for thousands of years…they have not said a word…so the world fights…and everyone looses.

  • I'm pretty sure I agree.

Every religion has its good and its bad,
    no religion is perfect.
Just because there are Muslim extremists out there, doesn't mean every single Muslim inhabiting the planet is an evil, violent, suicide-bombing terrorist.

I know a couple of Muslims at our school, and they're just like everyone else. They're kind, funny, helpful.. they're human.

Some people argue that the non-extremist Muslims, then, should at least be condoning (sp?) the terrorists. Really now though, just because these Muslims are passive, doesn't mean they're bad too.

Sheesh, here in Sydney, we've already seen what happens when the Muslims speak out against the terrorists. It's either the extremists [again] that attack their homes, or they get downtrodden by other religions for not actually doing *something*, but rather just talking.

Either way.. yikes, didn't mean to launch into that,
but I truly believe there are human Muslims out there too.

Thanks for trying to get the message across through this poem. :)

    *hugglies you*

    Kat.

Now why do you suppose you are treated with suspicion? I have a suspicion. Let me tell you about it. Could the cause be that people of your faith are murdering people in-discriminately? - and, as far as I can tell, no muslim leaders are speaking out against it, or trying to do anything to stop it. People just don't like being blown up. We didn't like all those people dying in the twin towers. We didn't like our ship being blown up: Nor the marine barracks: nor our embassies. We don't want to have it happen again. I suppose this is why the Londoners are suspicious of muslims in general. Don't you? Isn't it the fault of your fellow muslims that you must indure these inconvenances? Good poem though. God bless

i wrote this poem to speak against the descrimination, as they say there are two sides to a coin. the western world in my opinion have always been power hungry. we have seen this with the British ruling almost half of africa and stripping them of their wealth, we have seen the portuguese torture people in mozambique, we have seen the the Germans trying to take over the World. America are the modern day Germany but they are playing this game to fight for Oil and i am afraid Britain is helping them do that. why not fight for Somalia? why not fight for Rwanda and Burundi? i know why, just because the British have already robbed them all. and as for the people discriminating. all i can say is all Irish people arent IRA, all Germans are not NAZIS and all muslims are not terrorists. I remember the Great Nelson mandela was also once described a terrorist. but i cant change everyones views. thats all i can say.
