Mistake

it's all thrown in together and i can't sort it out
i thought i knew you and everything you're about
but the rain knocked on the window frame
as if i didn't see already that we'd never be the same

the rumors i kept hearing gave me hope
and i let this heart go too far it couldn't stop
falling in love wasn't the real mistake
it's more the fact that honesty was way too much to take

i was the smart one and the one to pity
should've let you in when you saw the pretty side of me
now it's maybe too late to explain
that who i was hurting over wasn't you, it wasn't your name
