Please come home

Have you ever had one of those calls
That leave u chilled, shaken ,to your core
One of the worse things that could ever happen
And you always hope and pray it doesn't
Her mothers sad quivering voice
Comes through the telephone line
Have you spoken with my daughter? Is she there?
She's left this note for us you see
It doesnt say where she'll be
Just that she really has to leave
That she just cant stay anymore
She's left us without any clue
And do you, her very best friend
Know what she would do ?

No, Never had a call like that. But I had one worse. When the police call you and ask if you can identify your daughter, ask if she's about 15-16 years old, and has a tattoo. Then it hits you, something is serriously wrong.
Well , they go on to say, she was hit by a mini-van, and has been critically med-flighted to Worcester hospital.... Which was an hour away. One of the longest hours of my life. My wife had to drag me out of the IC room, because I was in shock at seeing her all hooked up, and in a coma...I was shaking her and telling her I was there, and please wake up....(Now I'm crying again... Crap!)..... Sorry...
I guess my point is, worse things than just leaving can happen. I hope she finds what she's looking for.

Oh geez this is heart wrenching. No, I've never gotten that call. I have two children 10 and 4, OMG I would be beside myself. My kids are my roots to this Earth. They so keep me grounded. I hope all as turned out well in this situation. Great write.
Peace, Laura

My son is missing right now..he's suffering from paranoia and schizophrenia..he just didn't come home from work..
and even though he does things that are .. incomprehensible to me, I love him. He's my only son and I want to know he's safe..that he's alive and well..but I know none of those things. I know a bit of what you feel and my heart goes out.
