I'm Sick (Father)

Contributed by marcaycay on Saturday, 23rd September 2006 @ 04:48:45 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

I'm Sick of pretending everything is okay
I'm Sick of hiding behind a mask of lies
I'm Sick, but I won't expose it because no one cares
I'm Sick of wishing my wounds would heal
I'm Sick of everyone around me
I'm Sick of crying every night
My painful world revolves around FATHER
FATHER please help my sickness go away
But I know FATHER you can't help my sickness
because you are the one who's sick
I'm Sick of being the one to blame
I'm Sick of all the lies I've been told
I'm Sick of having my crushes crush me
I'm Sick of hating who I am
I'm Sick sitting, waiting, and wishing in the darkness
I'm Sick of sitting, waiting, and wishing in the darkness because sitting, and wishing does nothing to help his habit
Father is still ill and sitting, waiting, and wishing won't get him any better
If he loves me, he'd stop
It's been so long without his presence
But he Won't come back because he Can't stop
When pain takes over, I think of the worst sickness I have...
FATHER

my father died of depression, October 23, 1918 - April 6, 2002
He died peacefully Saturday, at age 83, while recovering from hip surgery.
He was born, one of ten children. He was a U.S. Army WWII veteran, having served in Europe as a Surgical Technician.
He was preceded in death by his former wife.
He is survived by his next wife, children, including me, RaquelLeah DuPont,; and grand children and great-grandchildren

I was not just his child, but his mother, and his daughter, and any person I needed to be to help him, and I would do it over and over again if need be, I miss my father, I loved him so, even when he seem to smite me, I still loved him. I recall telling him things, how to help him, and when I was through , he told me I was the one who needed help, I cried, but you know what, I kept on helping him, and also, I got help for myself in the midst of the fog, because he really needed me, and I could not fall down, now you do the same, say you are strong, go do it, get up off your duff and go do it, for it is not long for you or I or our loved ones will be off, where we want to be.. but we cannot go yet, they need us dang it, now be strong and do it, do it for you.. rl
