Suicide

There is a tempest of the sullen kind;
it bellowed violently within her troubled mind.
With a grim foggy maze, and a thick misty haze,
depression its name, conquered in tragic ways.
In the midst of such conquest is but little hope.
She tried to weather the storm, but just couldn’t cope.
The world was too empty, too bleak, and so cruel.
In the end her dead body, lay atop a bloody pool.
She hearkened so eager unto the reapers call;
he beckons all who must brave this squall.
With a blade in her hand, the act wasn’t planned,
death was her way to find a much brighter land.
Each dripping drop, bore a memory forgot.
Her essence defined in the wet crimson spot.
Soaked in this blood, she took her last breath,
and left the world smiling, adoring her death.
It’s a sad, sad tale and the story ends
with a grieving mother, and troubled friends
mourning this girl, who simply lost her way,
in the depths of depression, amid a world of gray.

This poem is so sad and emotional, I especially thought this verse was quite powerful :
She hearkened so eager unto the reapers call;
he beckons all who must brave this squall.
With a blade in her hand, the act wasn’t planned,
death was her way to find a much brighter land.
This is truly a suicidal , tragedy verse.And the final verse, yes Its those who are left behind , who suffer pain too. A very good write. Sue x |

This...
Soaked in this blood, she took her last breath,
and left the world smiling, adoring her death.
... doesn't just knock on the door of understanding and insight, it bangs loudly upon it. It is, I've always thought, a strange sort of love affair that the suicidal have with death... the tragedy of it becoming indescribly beautiful in comparison to the pain of living. I suspect, though, that only those who have considered death beautiful and, perhaps, those that were so very, very near to them to be privy to such thoughts might understand the extent of "adoring her death".... and it was, for the record, precisely that which made this grab me.
Appreciating your decision (or instinct) to approach this write from both the 'inside' and 'outside', so to speak,
~Snem

Incredible poem..so artfully written. My best friend committed suicide and I can relate so much to this. Thank you TwistedCage for this poem.
