Ain’t This The Truth

Contributed by momentintime on Saturday, 23rd September 2006 @ 12:55:00 AM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

Well yes, my mornings are still slow,
and by the time my eyes have opened
all that’s yet to come and pass
is more than what I’d want to know.

My daytime hours are spent flat out
with doing this and doing that,
yet still my thoughts bounce to and fro
‘tween what I know and what I doubt.

I spend each evening at home
where something needs be always done;
though each one’s much too very empty
when passing seconds are my own.

And then begins the night-time drill:
the hours invested in whatever
‘til comes the call to seek in slumber
a hope that dreams the void will fill.

Yet, dreams are oft a scant reprieve
from all the twists and turns of feelings;
rampant through the wakeful hours
they’ll not let reveries relieve.

And so the morn comes into view
as did the morn the day before,
and yesterday I now can add
to all the ones spent without you.

Jordan :o)
