The computer hums
content with itself
but not for me
there’s isn’t an email
- nor message waiting
my phone has been silent
I don’t know how long for
it won’t ring
even though I have cash
- as well as energy to burn
and still I sit
occasionally I write
but only to myself
always I am wondering
where is the fun of life
or those people
- ready to chase the sun
instead of sitting
in a cold room
waiting, always waiting
for the conversation
- never to come.
