As the saddest tear did fall from my eye,
Rolling down my red cheek,
It was than I realized,
Someone better will find me,
Someone that listens and understands,
Someone that does not let things get in the way,
Someone that can show me the kind of love I show them,
So as much as it hurts me now,
I know that I will be happy once more,
As the saddest tear I wiped from my eye,
Drying it off with my white hand,
It was than I realized,
Someone will love me,
Someone that cares,
Someone that makes me happy,
Someone that knows me,
So as much as my heart aches now,
I know that I will be held once more,
By someone that’s always there,
By someone that does not push me away,
By someone who thinks I’m great,
By someone who excepts me as I am,
By someone that thinks not only of himself,
By someone that is devoted to me,
As the saddest tear was long gone,
Disappeared with the rainy sky,
It was than that I realized,
Someone will take my hand freely,
Someone that smiles like the sunshine,
Someone that lets me love him,
Someone that is waiting for me,
So as much as my soul is wounded,
I know that I will be love for real…for once.
As the saddest tear was only a memory,
Far away like the clouds of gray,
It was than that I realized,
Someone will open their heart to me,
Someone that holds nothing against me,
Someone that believes me as I speak the truth,
Someone that can protect me,
Someone that is not perfect, but is to me,
So as much as my memories pain me,
I know that I will be somebody to someone else.

Another great write from you - as always. The 1st and 3rd stanzas really stood out to me - seems you felt very much the same as I did in my previous relationship (with the judgement and lack of emotion from the other).
And I agree - it does get better. I've been feeling great of late and quite happy to be single. My only problem is the lack of conversation - but that's always been there, even when she was around.
Keep it up!
- Tim |

i'm glad that you have found your strength. i've always "talked" like an optimist. i keep saying that it's not a big deal in the bigger picture...and that there is always someone waiting out there who will treat you better than the last. but it's really quite impossible to see such optimism when you're right in the middle of it. how did you ever do it? beautiful poem. |
