THE RIVERS GATE

Contributed by Adelle on Wednesday, 20th September 2006 @ 02:09:02 AM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

I stand at the gate
of the rivers waves
open up, in, I want to be let
pour yourself upon me, wet
open your mouth and cleanse me
swallow me up in the river deep
pour upon me life’s trials
engross me in the lesions worth while
wash away all of my sins
weaknesses and heart aches I’ve carried within
I stand at the gate of your mouth
ready to dive in, and come back out
after you wash me through life
for you are my teacher and my guide.
encompass me on my journey
in and out of each wave created for me
help me to not choke and drown
or repeat choices that push me down
that I may be coragous and brave
and fight head on, each wave
building within me, More strength
of a more direct and solid way
taking me back home to my God
after each of life’s lesions have been taught
wash and cleanse away all of my wounds
and keep all my safety gear good and used!
For with all the right tools and gear,
I have in each wave that, over head, peers
I can look into the eye of each one
and face them in the deep, head on-
as I look no further, in search for light
I rest assured, that within the waves, rests Christ
I will ride them, push through them
and I will lose myself within, and then
see life above and beyond this gate
ridden, learned, and directed by fate
as the gates open, I see them come
and I know beyond the river, I’ll even be taken
to the raging waves of the deep wide, ocean
where I will ride the waves with God on my side
and no other being for me, fighting my fight
for I am the wave, a creation of strength
and he is every water, the ocean, sea, river, and lake
together we ride, in harmony and stride
in courage, and love he helps in life’s fight
to make it to the end of life’s ocean
after I am defined and molded in who I am to become

Wow! What a prayer full of the strength of Divine. Great write. "Poems, prayers 'n' promises?" What's the diff'rence? The strength of faith as detected in yer little window to the soul. I'm attracted to the name
