I’ll smile every time I think of you…

Contributed by oneir8dude on Tuesday, 19th September 2006 @ 10:45:19 PM in AEST
Topic: goodbyepoetry

I want to tell you what you meant to me…
I wish and hope that you can see…

You always laughed, in my eyes…
Always were you so very wise…

You always smiled and all was good…
The way I wish we all could…

You and your Bibs and your gray hair…
And the ways I remember you cared…

I didn’t spend a lot of time of late…
Visiting and doing things I thought could wait…

You were always on my mind…
And my memories were not unkind…

I hope you know I feel remorse…
For not seeing you more, of course…

I need you to know I missed out…
And now I am you without…

I missed out on the chance to say…
I loved you each and every day…

I wish I had come to you…
I might not feel so blue…

I never got to say goodbye…
And now all I can do is cry…

Please remember me when you smile at the gates…
I’ll see you again for that I can’t wait…

I am now glad I said goodbye…
Now I need not cry…

I’ll smile every time I think of you…

Memories of those we love can always make us smile. But saying that , its still sad to lose them. Sue x Nice tribute to a fine person.

What a wonderful write to your Grandfather. I hope his journey is full of peace. Made me think of my own Grandfather. Thanks for sharing.
Peace, Laura
