forgave

Topic: HumorPoetry

when you're in love why does it seem
that no matter what you're in a dream
his imperfections seem to fade
i left last week, and am back today

in the beginning there was she
with long red hair and great body
excitedly, you'd give a nod
and with wide grin say "yea, she just got a boob job"

now even though you always drooled
and i would feel like such a fool
no doubtedly the choice i made
was swallow my pride, then silently forgave

when i was told "you'd better watch out! i dont mean to be nosy
but your friend and your man seem a little too cozy,
at the workplace they sit too closely and in a bliss
as if you, my friend, you dont even exist!"

now here i go again, i say
i got angry, but again i forgave

and what about the poems he'd write
about his ex, oh yes, we'd fight
be he insisted that they were "just words"
no reason for me to act absurd

now here i go again, i say
i got upset, but then forgave

now about the way that im ignored
as if to say "baby, im bored"
he'd rather not even sit with me
says "we're at work. thats how it should be"

now here i go again, i say
i cursed him out, but then forgave

now to you this may just be
that i exaggerate, or so it seems
but sadly, my boyfriend doesnt seem to care
but believe me, guys, the love is there...

sounds like a situation i just walked out of but the truth is as much as i forgave, the more he did... maybe forgiving all the time is not the answer maybe we should just yell and not be sorry for how we feel inside because are they sorry for what they do? but this is a good poem...

i agree with brokenwings...i went thru the exact same thing...one girl after the other...as well as him writing to an ex about how much he loved her and then tried to explain to me that "he didn't mean it"....'scoff'....anyway...i was deluded...and maybe i still am. because i forgave him for everything and we're still fighting...i think i need to smarten up...but like you said...love is a dream...and like the last poem i read...when you love someone you hang around until your love is recognized and returned...it's silly but happens to the best of us. best of luck...
