I'd never kill myself for you
thought I'd kill you for myself
you once were on a pedestal
now you'll sit upon a shelf
I never lied on who I was
I never once pretended
you thought that you could change me
take a stab at why we ended
Our marriage was a short one
I'll admit I walked away
but you left me long before then
and I've stopped breathing since that day
I'd never kill myself for you
honestly, there is no need
for you see, you got there first
I died the night you beat me.
