Does it really feel that good what you put inside you?
the life that leads to a hollow heart. the lies that follow
Does it really feel that good to lose family and friends
Your body looks old, your life is a mess.
You lie awake nights because your conscious can't rest
You can change if you want, let go what you think is your friend.
And numbness will vanish and you'll feel whole again

I would like to believe this is true, but recovering from addiction isn't as simple as quiting, and then finding wholeness soon after. It takes time, and this time can be just as brutal as the addiction itself.
This is a sad truth, and I would hope that by realization of this truth, some will resist the temptation of ever trying drugs in the first place.
I like the thoughts behind this piece, but I would have liked to seen the truth behind the difficult battle of recovery, or maybe a bit of detail in the difficulty itself. If only to deter potential users....
It's actually a war in which battles are fought on a daily basis...even after one finds sobriety.
I do believe, in the end, that we (The addicts) can find wholeness again. (It just takes time) Many things must first be resolved, and restored, though.
What I really liked about your piece is that it gave hope where many feel hopeless, but let us be realistic when we approach drug addiction. It is a monster in which the addict must slay on a daily basis...Not an easy task!
