The Main feature

MAIN FEATURE

Yesterday, all it's joys, heartaches and growing pains.
Was oft a feature-drama that will not screen again.
Apprenticeship in living, as slowly ran the reel.
The whole world is our oyster. Exuberance we feel.

And now our days are numbered, with gratitude enjoy,
each magic golden sunrise before our senses cloy.
As mem'ries of each moment cascade within our brain,
Remember this main feature will never screen again.

Tomorrow is the future that we may never see,
Our footprints mark the path, to earthly destiny.
With deeds that offer substance to dreams of yesterday,
We potters etched the pattern embedded in the clay.

As angry times and people leave coal black sins behind,
Great shining deeds of glory uplifteth all mankind.
Grant we leave some seed. Hope, to lift the spirit high.
A brightly, polished, touch of class, a joyous last goodbye.

As epitaphs are sweetest when written by a friend,
May God embrace our living and sanctify our end.
And when our epic closes, the film rests in the can,
It matters how we acted in our allotted span.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
