Embers of an Angel's Love

Embers of an Angel's Love

She comes to me now
As a beloved memory
Fanning softly embers of love
I'll never forget

As they glow I feel the warmth
Of what it's like to be loved by her
To know the sparkle in her eye
Was once for me

And oh how it awakened me
Filled my heart with love and inspiration
Allowed me to escape chains
Of pity and loneliness

As I write these words
Tears of joy and sadness mingle
As they trickle from my heart
Onto this page

Joy because I love her so much
Sadness because I miss her so very much
Yet the light from those embers of love
Pass softly through my tears

Creating a spectacular rainbow of hope
A beautiful vision of love and compassion
Assuring my heart will no more
Hide in the shadow of hopelessness

For the memory of her eyes
Her sweet soft touch
Make glow those embers of love
That forever vanquish shadows sorrow

Russ
