Her Painting

LostLove

Before me is a painting
a young woman; my love
she rests there
so still, so quiet
I reach out to her
touch the surface
she is cold and hard
a question goes unanswered
a love token without reaction
for she is just an image now
but the memory remains
of wild nights
and running away
so I turn away
-it becomes too much to bare
and the painting whispers
begins to laugh
enjoying life the way she used to
-with me
so I turn back with hope
and watch her fade again
into that painting
that rests in her place
so still, so quiet
so cold, so hard
as always
to my touch..

Hehe... already did - "When I sent you away".
The only problem is that my wall's pretty blank now... Still, I don't think I'd like another painting. They're not warm to hug. ;-)
