Dont Have The Voice For It

Contributed by Boobee on Saturday, 16th September 2006 @ 02:02:40 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

Why... do you ask me to do these things?
Write me a poem and tell me what it says
But I dont have the voice for it
Give me your heart, but do you really want damaged goods?
Make love to me...
Lay your seed into me...
But I am working at the plant trying to plant a garden of cabbage to pay bills
I got pressure that makes diamonds and crack the coals will
Not even thirty and probably need some of them ding a ling pills
You ask for the rhythm but I dont have the rhyme
You ask for eternity but that's not enough time
You ask for the grit and all I got is the grime
And I'm not throwing you to the wayside
But as an aside, my pride has been conflicted with additions of addictions that cruise into more impossible missions
Girl, i'm stressed...
I got the weight of Apollo and the world on my chest
Monkeys harlem shaking on my back
And dum... dum... dum...
A heart that beats to it's own drum
That shakes like a junkie who cant find a score
That breaks like levees do on the poor
And more unreliable than goverment officials who thik oil equals war
Sorry... I aint that political
But the medication got me more than a little satirical
It's not typical...

Sometimes I feel trapped in six sides of steel wondering, pondering...
It's not just work, it's the work that's put in
Is what you ask a mask and you want to take me to task for an ass you knew in the past?
At long last... we getting somewhere
But neither here nor there is the place where your heart takes care
And I would tell you...
Shatter you preconcieved notion with a witches potion that promotes emotion
But I dont have the voice for it...

More than a metaphor, i'm messed up rightously
And there's no similie or reasonable facimilie to bring me out of this instability
I think the world is buckling
Or maybe it's me
Just yesterday I looked in the mirror and my reflection cried
I look in the sky and the sun must have died
And I'm just watching the television seeing if the revolution is going to be televised
But all I see is Dave as Rick and Rick saying "Cocaine is a hell of a drug"
And I want to yell to the high heavens what real hell is...
But I don't have the voice for it

I'd say you have the voice for many things. I really enjoyed this....it gets you thinking and smiling and feeling sad in intervals. It's wonderful.
